Jonathan is a Partner in the Banking and Debt Advisory teams.

Specialising in acquisition and leveraged finance, asset based lending, and general corporate banking work, Jonathan has worked on many of the largest and most complex financing transactions in the North West market.

He acts for both private and listed companies incorporated in the UK and overseas and works with borrowers, lenders, private equity houses and other investors on all aspects of debt finance. Clients include owners and directors of companies operating in all sectors of the market.

Jonathan deals with all aspects of the negotiation and structuring of loan facilities, security documents, intercreditor agreements and hedging arrangements.  He is experienced in dealing with complex financing structures including mezzanine and second lien facilities, syndicated ABL deals, cross-border transactions and risk participation arrangements.

More recently, Jonathan has been supporting corporate clients with the changes to their facilities arising out of the abolition of LIBOR.  He has also led transactions involving various UK Government backed loan schemes including CBILS and CLBILS and has niche expertise in the arena of peer to peer lending.

Recent examples of how Jonathan has supported clients include:

  • working with a NASDAQ listed specialty chemicals company in relation to its US$375m syndicated loan arrangements;
  • supporting an international automotive manufacturing business on its £95m asset based lending facility;
  • advising on the establishment of a new P2P lending business and drafting its terms and conditions and full suite of lending documents; and
  • providing advice to a club of lenders in relation to their £32m SONIA based syndicated loan agreement provided to a care home group.
