Lauren is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team (specialising in Property Litigation and Contentious Trust and Probate matters).

Experienced in all types of property disputes including possession claims (residential, squatters and trespassers), commercial and residential disputes concerning legal ownership, adverse possession claims, forfeiture, disputes relating to easements and restrictive covenants, contested and uncontested lease renewal claims, dilapidations claims, boundary disputes and right of way disputes. Also experienced in AHA tenancies and agricultural land disputes.

Lauren also advises on probate disputes, including challenges to the validity and constructions of wills, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975, disputes between beneficiaries and estate executors and applications to remove executors/trustees. Lauren is an associate member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).

Lauren also has experience dealing with claims arising from professional negligence involving solicitors.

Clients include private individuals, landlord/tenants, farming businesses, claimants/ defendants, executors/trustees, regional and national companies and a number of blue-chip companies such as Prudential Assurance, Hanson and Breedon.

Recent examples of how Lauren has supported clients include:

  • advising on and settling a multi-million pound mineral trespass claim;
  • settling a six-figure dilapidation claim in favour of our landlord client in relation to complex roofing repairs
  • advising on and settling an Inheritance Act claim successfully achieving a clean break scenario and a six-figure cash settlement in favour our client;
  • advising on and settling a professional negligence claim against a financial advisor who had failed to set up a trust resulting in a significant Inheritance Tax liability for the deceased’s estate.
