Russell Hallam is a Partner in the Private Client team, bringing over 33 years of experience in private client work.
Russell specialises in the Court of Protection, Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate planning (including wills, trusts, and lifetime gifts), probate and estate administration, tax planning, and succession planning for small and medium-sized enterprises. He also advises on issues affecting the elderly and holds numerous appointments as deputy, attorney, trustee, and executor, often dealing with complex and high-value cases.
Russell works closely with the wealth planning team to provide comprehensive financial and estate planning advice. He is one of only around sixty Panel Deputies nationwide appointed by the Court of Protection to manage the financial affairs of individuals who have lost capacity to make decisions, or where there is a need to replace existing deputies or attorneys due to concerns about financial abuse.
He has acted as an independent administrator in estates following disputes, where the court has appointed him to replace the original personal representative to facilitate the completion of the estate administration.
Russell has a particular focus on tax and estate planning for small and medium-sized business owners and managers, as well as creating and managing trusts for families with members who have learning disabilities. He is regularly invited to speak to families impacted by such issues, including for Mencap and Parkinson’s UK.
