Tim is a Partner in the Corporate team.
Qualified as a corporate lawyer for 10 years Tim advises a range of clients on sales, mergers and acquisitions along with corporate restructuring and share schemes, to incentivise employees or help protect generational wealth including through the use of Family Investment Companies.
Prior to qualification Tim worked in Insurance, project management and construction. Tim's clients value his knowledge gained form working in industry prior to qualification and first hand experience of dealing with many of the situations that he now advises on. Tim's clients tend to be owner managed or family owned businesses, where Tim is able to take the time to understand the client's strategy and appetite for risk, acting as a trusted adviser and attending board meetings with clients.
Recent corporate work undertaken by Tim includes:
- sale of trading business to Employee Ownership Trust;
- sale of technology business to large American Corporate backed by Private Equity; and
- acquisition of care homes by acquisitive care provider backed by finance from a US based REIT.
Tim also works closely with charities and not for profit organisations, assisting with new incorporations, mergers, closures and governance issues and advice during the lifetime of a charity. Tim's knowledge of charities is significantly bolstered by his role as trustee of a number of Essex based Charities including, Essex Community Foundation, St Helena Hospice and a Non executive director of Essex Chamber of Commerce.
