Tom is an Associate in the Commercial team.

Supporting clients with all types of commercial agreements, including bespoke agreements for the supply of goods and services; standard terms and conditions; software development and licensing / distribution agreements; manufacturing and fabrication agreements; franchising and agency agreements; and licences and assignments of intellectual property. Tom also advises on data protection and privacy issues.

Tom has extensive experience across a wide range of sectors including the digital and technology and manufacturing sectors. He completed a six-month in-house secondment at a UK refinery of one of the big seven oil and gas companies, advising the purchasing team on contract tenders and negotiations with on-site contractors and suppliers, covering areas such as plant maintenance, fabrication and installation; NDA’s, vesting certificates and novations / supplier transfers.

Clients primarily range from owner-managed SME’s to large corporates. He has advised clients in the tech sector at all levels, from start-ups to large corporates. Tom also has experience in cross-border commercial contracts including for the supply of high-value bespoke machinery.

Recent examples of how Tom has supported clients include:

  • preparing and advising on a suite of e-commerce documents for a nationwide price comparison site;
  • dealing with a high-value machine purchase agreement for one of the UK’s leading packaging companies; and
  • negotiating a bespoke hotel management agreement for a national operator covering several UK sites.
