Yas is a Solicitor in the Family team.

Having joined Knights in November 2025, she assists the entire team and provides advice on all aspects of separation, divorce, financial remedy, arrangements for children and child maintenance.  

Yas is frequently instructed in relation to the arrangements for children, providing clear initial advice on appropriate arrangements for each individual child and their families.

She has developed a particular interest in financial remedies practice both for couples that are married/in a civil partnership but also those that are not. Ensuring financial disclosure is fully scrutinised and clients understand all the assets that are being considered. Yas also has a strong interest in advising on nuptial agreements and recognises the importance that these can play when discussing finances both pre and post marriage.   

Recent examples of how Yas has supported clients:

  • Providing robust advice and representation on behalf of a father to ensure that a mother did not relocate with the child of the of family to the other end of the country as she had threatened to do, ensuring he maintained their shared care arrangement. 
  • Locating a husband who had deserted his wife over a decade ago to enable her to progress divorce proceedings and formalise the financial position between them.
  • Preparing a consent order for a couple who reached agreement in mediation to provide them both with certainty and finality in respect of their financial matters and assisting with the advice provide to them on a joint basis.
  • Ensuring an urgent change of name deed was processed and registered with the Court to enable a family now living in England to travel abroad together for attendance at a family funeral abroad.
  • Assisting with a notice to show cause application on behalf of a wife whose husband was seeking to renege from the agreement reached in respect of their finances.
  • Arranging drug and alcohol testing on a matter concerning the arrangements for children, to ensure evidence was available to the Court that neither of these were issues for the father.  
  • Assisting a husband in respect of his finances on a matter where they had divorced some time ago, but finances had not been agreed, supporting him through the Court process, securing a great outcome and finality for him and his future.
