Zoe is an Associate Solicitor in the Regulatory team.

She specialises in Regulatory law advising clients on a wide spectrum of complex regulatory issues.  This includes environmental law, healthcare matters, professional misconduct and health and safety.  Zoe has particular expertise in dealing with matters involving working at height, traffic management, machinery guarding, and exposure to hazardous substances, including asbestos.  Zoe also deals with inquests and undertakes her own advocacy. 

Zoe is regularly instructed by clients to undertake, assist with and advise on investigations. As part of a company investigation, Zoe has been instructed to interview and take statements from relevant witnesses and prepare written submissions under caution. Zoe regularly represents clients’ interests in front of enforcement and regulatory authorities.

She has experience in providing both proactive and reactive advice to clients. Zoe regularly conducts gap analysis for clients (pre and post incident). Zoe has been involved in producing bespoke policies and procedures for clients relevant to their business, including providing guidance on ISO standards.  Also provides specialist advice on regulatory matters in corporate and property transactions, including drafting bespoke warranties and indemnities and negotiating the same.

Examples of how Zoe has helped clients include:

  • Meeting with a client on-site within 24 hours of the incident occurring to assist with the company investigation and meeting with enforcing authorities.
  • Carrying out a legally privileged investigation following a fatality, seeing the matter through to the conclusion of a Coroner’s inquest.
  • Representing a client before multi-disciplinary authorities in a high-profile criminal investigation involving a fatality.
  • Advising clients on legal privilege and disclosure of documents to enforcing authorities.
  • Representing an individual in criminal proceedings for environmental offences.
  • Negotiating bespoke environmental provisions in a property transaction.
  • Undertaking advocacy at magistrates’ court and at inquests.
  • Preparing written submissions as part of professional misconduct investigations.
