Knights’ Corporate team advised Percayso Limited in respect of its acquisition of Cazoo Data Services Ltd - known as Cazana and now named Percayso Vehicle Intelligence Limited - in a move that expands its presence in the UK motor insurance market.
Percayso’s insurance intelligence business aggregates data from different sources to help insurers and brokers improve service and retention levels, reduce claims and increase portfolio size and profitability.
Percayso has used the Cazana’s data insights in the UK market since 2019, and the opportunity recently arose to acquire Cazana and bring those powerful insights, which boast over one billion unique data points, in-house.
Richard Tomlinson, Percayso’s Managing Director, said:
“When the opportunity arose to bring Cazana under the Percayso banner, we saw it as one that we had to take. Cazana’s unrivalled database provides motor insurers with a one-stop-shop, enabling them to truly understand the risk factor of a vehicle including its likelihood to be involved in a claim.
“Combining that data with our own unique insurance intelligence services will enable insurers to determine potential fraudulent activity, identify if a risk is right for their business, swiftly respond to changing market conditions and ultimately write better business.
“We were really pleased with the advice and support that Knights provided to Percayso throughout the transaction. They were responsive, knowledgeable, dedicated and hard working.”
Peter Abel, Senior Associate at Knights, said:
“This is a great move for Percayso and one we were really pleased be able to advise on. Cazana’s powerful database will complement the intelligence services Percayso has built in recent years and will allow Percayso to expand relationships with insurers already using the services of Percayso and Cazana and attract new clients. I’ve no doubt this will help them become even stronger.”
Cazana is trusted by six of the top 10 UK motor insurers offers insurance companies access to the largest vehicle database available.
It is the go-to data source for the Financial Ombudsman Service when settling claims disputes.
Knights is one of the fastest-growing legal and professional services businesses in the UK – ranked within the top 50 UK law firms by revenue, with specialists in all key areas of corporate and commercial law.
