Knights, the UK’s regional legal and professional services business, has bolstered its team in Reading with the addition of two experienced Partners in Regulatory and Family law.

Regulatory expert Philip Ryan and Family specialist Zoe Rose are the latest new recruits to join Knights in the Thames valley as a period of rapid growth for their Reading office continues.

Bringing more than 20 years of experience to the business, Philip advises SME and plc clients on a range of regulatory issues, including product safety and compliance, marketing and advertising, regulated product advisory, corporate investigations, health and safety, trading law, modern slavery and human trafficking and environmental.

Philip also specialises in advising on international matters and working alongside leading global firms as a UK co-counsel. He has particular expertise in retail and FMCG and as an automotive specialist, having acted for many manufacturers of passenger, commercial and industrial vehicles for over a decade.

Philip Ryan, Partner at Knights, said:

“It has been a fantastic first few weeks at Knights and I am delighted to contribute towards Knights’ growth in the Thames Valley.

“It is exciting to join at a time when the business is growing across the country. Being part of a truly national team means that I can always make sure that local and regional clients have access to the best possible advice.”

Zoe Rose joins Knights with almost 15 years of experience as a Family law expert, specialising in all aspects of divorce and separation, financial remedy, disputes in relation to children and protection from domestic abuse.

Zoe typically acts for individuals that are married, in civil partnerships and cohabiting, at all stages of their relationship, as well as advising broader family members in disputes regarding intergenerational wealth and complex arrangements for children. She also advises on complex and often high value cases involving trusts, business assets, international elements, farms and agricultural assets and complex pension arrangements.

Zoe’s pioneering work with couples together when they separate provides a new option at Knights for families to work together to manage a separation and the practical and legal implications of this.

Zoe Rose, Partner at Knights, said:

“I’m delighted to join Knights during what is undoubtedly an exciting period of growth for the business.

“Having practiced in the Thames Valley for my whole career, I’m looking forward to working with clients and colleagues from across the Knights network in what is a highly collaborative and supportive working environment.”

The arrival of Philip and Zoe comes during a period of rapid growth for Knights’ Reading office. Dispute Resolution Partner, Peter Sheppard and Private Client Partner, Alexander Morgan, recently joined the team who will soon be moving from their current office, which spans half of the 13th floor, to take over the entire 12th floor of the iconic Blade building.

James Christacos, Regional Client Services Director at Knights, added:

“It’s wonderful to welcome Philip and Zoe to the team. Both are experts in their respective fields and bring with them a significant amount of experience to bolster our Regulatory and Family teams, which is fantastic for our clients and colleagues as we strive to deliver exceptional service and advice across all sectors.

“We are growing in Reading, as we are up and down the country, and we’re always on the lookout for additional top talent to join our ambitious team.”

With 1,350 professionals working collaboratively across 32 offices nationwide, Knights is ranked within the top 50 UK law firms by revenue, providing multiple services to business clients alongside premium advisory services to private individuals.
