Michael is an Associate in the Property Litigation team.
Specialising in contentious construction, Michael has over 14 years’ experience dealing with a range of issues for commercial and construction clients. His focus includes dealing with construction disputes for both main contractors and sub-contractors including claiming back claiming back retention monies paid to employers, dealing with variations over scope of works and potential issues over defective works.
In addition, Michael supports clients with breach of contract claims; shareholder and director disputes; disputes between suppliers and customers; recovering unpaid debts; insolvency litigation, commercial landlord and tenant; dilapidations claims; restrictive covenant disputes; residential landlord and tenant; nuisance claims; and disputes over rights of way
Where clients are involved with disputes with overseas organisations, Michael manages the cross-jurisdictional work.
Clients include owner managed businesses across a diverse range of sectors including construction and property.
Recent examples of how Michael has supported clients include:
- recovering the sum of £200,000 via the High Court in a complex contract claim;
- obtaining money awards for retention and variation to works for subcontractors via adjudication; and
- negotiating a settlement of £150,000 in a Director/Shareholder Dispute
