Claire is a Partner in the Asset Management team. 

Claire has significant experience of all aspects of commercial real estate, with a particular focus on retail and investor work. She has acted regularly for institutional landlords and on the acquisition, disposal and development of mixed commercial schemes. Claire also has extensive experience of property portfolio management. In addition to this, Claire has also acted for a number of publicly listed tenants, private healthcare providers and local authorities.

Examples of how Claire has supported clients include:

  • Led the due diligence and reporting on a £200m acquisition of specialist care properties on behalf of Civitas Investment Management Limited from CareTech. The sale and leaseback transaction included a portfolio comprising specialist schools and children's homes.
  • Acting on behalf of Lendlease and Invesco Real Estate on a deed of variation with John Lewis, and lettings to River Island, and Five Guys on anchor transactions as part of the £60m extension at the Queensgate Centre in Peterborough.
  • Advising a joint venture between two top national house builders on the development of a commercial town centre offering at the heart of a community of 2,700 homes. The work included development of a letting pack for new tenants.
  • Leading on the complex due diligence exercise; and project managing the delivery of the advice across the construction, real estate litigation, planning and tax aspects for a well-known distribution and delivery company prior to their signing of a new lease for a 346,153 sq ft major distribution centre. The site involved a complex structure of ownership which made the review of title tricky. The site included a number of management companies.
  • Acting on behalf of Newcastle City Council on the option to purchase Bullocksteads sports fields and College House from Northumbria University.
  • Advised the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan on the lettings at its development at 78 St James’s Street, London SW1, a historic grade II listed building. The client transformed the building from a single-occupier building into a state of the art, multi-let building offering a range of flexible amenity space for occupiers.
  • ING Bank N.V. - Advised the bank on the sub-underletting of surplus space on the fourth floor at 8-10 Moorgate, London EC2 to Cambridge Mercantile Corp. (UK) Limited.
