Drew is an Associate in the Family team.
He is a family law specialist who assists both married and unmarried couples at the outset of their relationship as well as in the event of relationship breakdown. Drew regularly represents clients within divorce and financial remedy proceedings, negotiating and formalising financial settlements, including for cohabiting couples. Such cases often involve complex assets such as business interests, pensions, property, farms and trusts.
Drew also regularly provides advice to protect client wealth upon marriage or cohabitation, often in respect of assets owned prior to marriage. Drew regularly drafts Pre/Post-Nuptial Agreements for high profile, high net-worth clients. Drew also provides advice in respect of any children of the family, with the aim of helping families reach agreement as to child arrangements upon separation. Additionally, Drew also has significant experience in representing clients in relation to relocation issues.
Recent examples of how Drew supports clients include:
- Assisting an individual with significant wealth in the preparation of a Pre-Nuptial agreement where the asset base was in excess of £500m;
- Securing a Final Child Arrangements Order for a mother which prevented a hostile father from abusing her further or from making further applications to Court;
- Representing a husband within financial remedy proceedings involving a £250m blind trust, complex business assets and significant non-matrimonial assets;;
- Securing a Child Arrangements Order for a father where the mother was found to be implacably hostile towards the father having a relationship with the children; and
- Successfully obtaining an order in favour of a father for permission to relocate with his children from the jurisdiction of England and Wales to a foreign country.
