Helen is a Partner in the Asset Management team.

A specialist in commercial property, including acting for large pension funds with retail and shopping centre properties on both landlord and tenant work, plus the acquisition and sale of their portfolio properties.

Key areas of focus include supporting clients on the granting of new leases, surrenders, asset management, management applications, and acquisitions for development sites including options.

In addition, Helen also works with small residential property developers and property investment companies on the sale and purchase of commercial freehold and leasehold sites.

Helen acts for landowners, landlords and tenants, property developers and investors. She provides property-related support to corporate transactions, advising high street lenders and commercial borrowers on banking security.

Recent examples of how Helen has supported clients include:

  • selling multiple parcels of land owned by five families and dealing with the asset management which was complicated due to all parties having competing interests;
  • enabling the purchase of a commercial leasehold with multiple rights of way issues, including rectifying a defect which could have caused problems in the future;
  • successfully negotiating the sale of a property, despite the buyer identifying that the multi-tenanted freehold did not have all the required documents for construction work carried out 10 years previously; and
  • facilitating a successful negotiation of a reversionary lease and deed of variation to an existing lease, to reflect rent reduction and ongoing caps to service charge and retail price index reviews.
