Senior Associate
James is a Senior Associate in the Asset Management team.
He is experienced in commercial property transactions including acquisitions or disposals of sites or premises, conditional sale contracts, rights of pre-emption, options, overage agreements, portfolio restructuring, and sale and leaseback arrangements. He works for both landlords and tenants, negotiating the grant, renewal and regearing of commercial leases. In addition, James also provides property support on corporate transactions involving the sale or purchase of shares or property assets, including property due diligence.
His clients include landowners, landlords, tenants, property investors and franchise chains. James also has experience advising Energy companies on transactions involving property and the use of land.
Recent examples of how James has supported clients include:
- projects including power generation facilities (wind, hydro/coal);
- consolidating the estate of a regional building society, by acquiring new leases and the disposal of surplus premises;
- helping a national charity to maximise the value of their estate by disposing of property to raise capital, and organising sale and leaseback arrangements;
- selling off a £10 million portfolio of retail sites; and
- managing the property acquisitions, disposals and leases for a major mixed-use football, leisure, retail and residential development in the East of England.
