Joanne is a Solicitor in the Regulatory team.

She specialises in Regulatory law advising clients on a wide spectrum of complex regulatory issues including health, safety and environmental matters, product safety, healthcare and financial services.

Joanne is experienced in providing both proactive and reactive advice to clients. Joanne has experience in providing advice on regulatory matters in corporate and property transactions, including drafting bespoke clauses and making mandatory notifications under the National Security and Investment Act 2021. Joanne has also been involved in producing bespoke policies for clients relevant to their business, including providing guidance on fire safety regulations, product safety regulations and modern slavery.

Examples of how Joanne has helped clients include:

  • Assisting in Judicial Review proceedings to secure a successful judgment against the GMC;
  • Reviewing policies and terms and conditions for clients to ensure they comply with their regulatory obligations;
  • Drafting correspondence to third parties setting out the client’s regulatory obligations and why they have taken the steps they have;
  • Drafting correspondence to regulatory bodies to protect clients against potential enforcement action;
  • Providing advice to clients in relation to product safety, data protection, and healthcare obligations to ensure they comply with relevant legal requirements;
  • Assisting in enforcement proceedings raised by the Health and Safety Executive including appeal of improvement notice and prosecution; and
  • Assisting clients in relation to a significant prosecution from the Environment Agency
