Mark is a partner in the Family Team.

He qualified in 1995 and has specialised in divorce and separation exclusively since qualification. As well as being an expert in the court process, he is also a qualified Collaborative lawyer and mediator. He has a busy collaborative law practice and is a previous chair of the York Collaborative Pod. He is a member of Resolution, a large body of family law specialists and has worked with Resolution at a local level when he was the Regional Chair and at a national level.

He is renowned for his expertise in the financial aspects of separation and divorce and has acted for landowners, business owners, professionals, farmers, sports professionals and those in the public eye. He has a lot of experience in dealing with more complicated matters of family law and issues with an international element including financial and children issues.

He hopes to adopt a pragmatic and sensible approach and recognises the impact that separation can have on families. It is for this reason that he offers a specialism in processes outside of the court process for those who wish to try to avoid court.

After over 26 years of practice Mark has a huge network of other specialists including valuers, accountants, actuaries, therapists, counsellors and barristers that he works with regularly and can bring additional expertise to the process when required.

Mark has lectured in family law, prepared many articles on the subject and provide commentary to newspapers, and the media including the BBC.
