Michelle is a Senior Associate in the employment team.

Michelle has experience of advising a broad range of clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters covering all aspects of employment law. This includes drafting and updating employment contracts, as well as policies and procedures, supporting clients with commercial settlements including drafting and advising on Settlement Agreements, assisting with redundancy processes, and defending Employment Tribunal proceedings. Michelle also supports employers with a range of day-to-day employment law and HR queries, such as handling disciplinary and grievance processes and performance management.

Michelle advises senior employees in respect of severance packages and Settlement Agreement terms.

Michelle has extensive experience of delivering training to clients on a wide range of employment topics, as well as providing updates on employment law changes and providing guidance on best practice.

Michelle offers practical and commercial advice to help clients to achieve their end goal whilst managing an appropriate level of risk.

Recent examples of how Michelle has supported clients include:

  • Successfully defending a claim of unfair dismissal in respect of a longstanding Employment Tribunal claim
  • Assisting with due diligence in respect of a company acquisition involving the transfer of a large number of employees
  • Supporting an employer with a redundancy process involving the closure of one of its sites without exposing the employer to employment claims
  • Negotiating an increased severance payment in respect of a senior employee exiting their role
