Rebecca is an Associate in the Family team.

She has several years’ experience working alongside clients in all aspects of family law.

In that time Rebecca has built a wealth of expertise in advising on financial and contested matters relating to a divorce and finances, as well as supporting clients to put plans in place for children.

Rebecca regularly advises on cases involving private children disputes including allegations of abuse, mental health, alcohol and drug dependency, parental alienation, violence towards children/the other parent and cases where there is Social Services involvement.

Rebecca also regularly represents vulnerable clients in injunction matters who have faced domestic abuse/violence in seeking non-molestation and occupation orders for her clients to prevent further abuse and so they can return to the family home.

As well as a deep understanding of the Children Act, Rebecca has also advised on separation agreements, cohabitation agreements and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.

Rebecca also supports clients with a medium to high net worth in financial matters or complex cases involving children – regularly advising and assisting on cases involving assets in excess of £1 million.

Her approach is always to put the client and their needs first, understanding their goal and explaining what is needed to achieve their outcome.

Recent examples of how Rebecca supports clients include:

  • Representing a client in Maintenance Pending Suit proceedings where the Applicant Wife was already entitled to state benefits but had made a premature application against my client for maintenance – successfully achieving a withdrawal of the Applicant’s application before the hearing;
  • Successfully opposing on behalf of the father, a mother’s application for leave to remove their child to Australia and for the child to continue to reside in the UK;
  • Obtaining a non-molestation and occupation order against a husband who was previously physically abusive towards my client and had unexpectedly returned to live in the family home after 4 years of being estranged from my client to the exclusion of her and the children. Awarded a substantial costs order in my client’s favour in having to make the application;
  • Representing a client in contested child proceedings where the child was stopped in having contact with my client due to Social Services involvement. Despite the other parent objecting to the child spending time with my client, I achieved a 50 / 50 shared care order that the child live with both parents equally; and
  • Dealing with complex divorce matters involving international service of divorce applications (specifically in Pakistan and Egypt) and urgent divorce proceedings where I managed to secure a divorce in 28 days due to my client wishing to re-marry.
