Richard is a Partner in the Asset Management and Development teams.
He has extensive experience in the acquisition, development, financing and subsequent sale or letting of residential and commercial property, the purchase and sale of investment properties and the acquisition or letting of properties for business occupiers.
With particular expertise in commercial development and investment schemes, Richard’s work includes all aspects of the development process including site acquisition and assembly, promotion and option agreements, joint ventures, development agreements, forward funding agreements, property finance, site set up and subsequent disposals. In addition Richard works with commercial landlords and tenants in lease negotiations and manages substantial property portfolios for commercial clients.
Richard advises regional and national clients on all aspects of real estate transactions with schemes relating to business parks, offices, industrial and logistics, retail and residential developments.
Clients include Harworth Group, Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Sheffield Business Park Limited and Sky House Co.
Recent examples of how Richard has supported clients include:
- pre-letting of Unit 2A AMPlify at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Rotherham to provide a bespoke nuclear fusion research facility for United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority;
- refinancing of substantial property portfolio to facilitate the creation of commercial developments in coalfield communities to meet with the needs and growing demand of SMEs, while also providing an opportunity for local people to learn new skills and to secure employment creating an inward investment that will deliver a social value; and
- sale of final phase of the high profile site of the former Sheffield Airport.
