Home furnishings retailer Dunelm has launched a new style of store in Leeds after working with Knights to secure retail space at The Springs shopping centre at Thorpe Park in the city.

The store is the first of Dunelm’s smaller format stores that will, as part of the new concept, offer shoppers paperless receipts.

Knights supported Leicester-based Dunelm in its acquisition of the site on a 5-year lease at the sought-after retail park.

The 18,362 sq ft store is roughly half the size of a typical Dunelm store, as the retailer aims to meet changing consumer habits and promote sustainable business.

The store opened its doors on Friday 1 April following support from Knights’ Real Estate team - led by Partner Caroline Smith and supported by Solicitor Simran Sahdra.

Caroline Smith, Partner at Knights, said:

“It was a pleasure to work with Dunelm to secure this site, which is an exciting new format for their stores.

"It’s exciting that they’re adjusting their stores to meet consumer demand – and we look forward to working with them on many more acquisitions.”

Steve Barton, Director of Property at Dunelm, said:

“We are delighted to announce that we will open a new store at The Springs Leeds on 1 April.

"We chose The Springs due to its high-quality environment, and great transport and infrastructure links. It is an ideal scheme for us to launch our new format store that is around half the size of our standard superstore.”
