Premium professional services business, Knights, has supported the sale of two Manchester care homes from Hind Care Ltd to Classic Care Homes Devon.

Husband and wife duo, Rachel and Will Hind, first acquired Faversham House Nursing Home in Urmston in 1999, before expanding Brookfield Nursing Home in 2018. Together, the two homes care for circa 40 residents.

Classic Care Homes Devon will take on management of the homes, ensuring continuity of the high-quality care already in place. Rachel Hind will also continue to play an active role in the business as part of the transition.

Knights’ corporate team acted as legal advisors for Hind Care on the deal. The team was led by Senior Associate Ceri Jones with support from Associate Lydia Redhead and Trainee Solicitor Ethan Cartwright.

Support was also provided by Tonina Mycock, Real Estate Partner at Knights, who ensured a smooth handover of the properties, and Planning Partner Rob Pattinson, who advised on the planning aspects of the transaction.

Commenting on the sale, Will Hind said, “It was a complex transition, made simple by professional support from Knights.”

Ceri Jones, Corporate Senior Associate at Knights, said, “We’re proud to have supported Rachel and Will throughout this transition. A deal of this nature required seamless coordination across Corporate, Real Estate and Planning, and having that depth of national expertise within Knights meant we could manage every aspect for them.

“Our priority was to make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible for Will and Rachel. We’re delighted to have helped them secure a positive outcome for them and the residents of both homes.”

Speaking on LinkedIn, Classic Care Homes said, “After nearly a year of conversations, patience, and persistence, we have finally completed the acquisition of two nursing homes in Manchester as part of the growth of Classic Care Homes Devon.”

“A very special thank you to Rachel Hind from Hind Care. Rachel, you have been incredibly patient, supportive, and principled throughout this long journey. Your focus on doing right by the homes, residents, and staff never wavered.”
