Anna is a Solicitor in the Private Client team.

Anna has experience in a variety of Private Client matters including preparation wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, administration of estates and advice surrounding planning for care fees.

Alongside her own caseload, Anna directly supports a partner in the team with complex wills, administration of taxable estates and trust matters. She also takes new enquiries from a wide variety of clients and effectively to works alongside colleagues on cross-department matters.

Recent examples of how Anna has supported clients include:

  • Assisting in succession planning for a terminally ill client with multiple business interests. Preparing both personal and business LPAs, putting appropriate trust mechanisms in place to provide for young children and liaising with stakeholders and Corporate colleagues to enable a smooth transition and minimise impact on the businesses.
  • Provided couple with tailored advice in relation to care fees, advising on gifts with reservation of benefit, life interest trusts and local authority powers. Put relevant will structure in place to try and ringfence part of property for eventual benefit of children.
  • Worked alongside her team in the administration of a significant taxable estate where there were multiple investment products, life polices and a foreign property to deal with. Formed a strong relationship with the executors and completed research into a range of discrete legal issues including downsizing addition, rules around gifts out of surplus income and transfer of historic nil-rate bands.
  • Assisted the family of a client with dementia in the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney, following procedure to notify relevant family members and then corresponding with the OPG to ensure they could use the document as soon as possible.
