Caroline is a Partner in the Employment team

Caroline has extensive experience in advising employers on a wide range of issues in a commercial way.  This includes representing clients in contentious matters in Employment Tribunal and court proceedings and early conciliation, as well as day-to-day HR and employment advice covering areas such as managing absence, dealing with disciplinary matters and grievances, breakdown in working relationships, changing terms and conditions and redundancies. 

Caroline is also experienced in advising on and drafting contracts, policies and procedures and providing corporate support in wider transactions such as share and asset sales.  She is also experienced in delivering training and seminars to employers.

Caroline has specialist knowledge of court proceedings involving employment overlaps, such as those involving restrictive covenants and other contractual issues. 

Clients include businesses of all sizes in sectors as diverse as hospitality, retail, manufacturing, charities and healthcare.

Examples of how Caroline has supported clients include:

  • Successfully defending proceedings brought against a company for inducing and procuring a breach of contract in the Court of Appeal
  • Achieving a favourable outcome for a client in a complex case involving whistleblowing, misconduct and issues in relation to data protection  
  • Supporting clients in managing difficult and sensitive long-term absence issues often involving long-serving employees
  • Managing capability and conduct issues including those involving neuro-diversity considerations
  • Providing support to corporate colleagues in dealing with share and asset sales on the employment aspects of the transaction
  • Advising a client on a redundancy process involving a restructure and workplace closure
