Daniel is a Partner in the Family team.

He is family law specialist with extensive experience dealing with financially complex divorces and civil partnership dissolutions – with an emphasis on matters involving business assets and assets abroad.

He is also an expert in cases seeking permission to take children outside of England and Wales – and regularly represents clients at the High Court in cases involving the application of the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of Child Abduction.

Daniel regularly advises on cases involving farming matters, and has worked with many high profile, high net-worth clients.

Recent examples of how Daniel supports clients include:

  • Assisting an individual with significant wealth in the preparation of a Pre-Nuptial agreement where the asset base was in excess of £1bn;
  • Advising and representing a wife in relation to financial matters and securing an order for the husband to meet her legal fees under a Legal Services Order and a substantial interim maintenance order;
  • Representing a wife on an application to secure jurisdiction of the Family Court of England and Wales in order to defeat husband’s attempts to have the financial matters on divorce heard in a foreign jurisdiction which would have resulted in the wife’s award being significantly reduced;
  • Securing a child arrangements order for a father where the mother was found to be implacably hostile towards the father having a relationship with the children; and
  • Successfully achieving an order in favour of a mother for permission to relocate with the children from the jurisdiction of England and Wales to a foreign country.
