Helen is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team.

She has experience of all types of litigation and insolvency, including property litigation and contractual disputes. She has secured successful outcomes in disputes relating to professional negligence, injunction proceedings concerning allegations of data theft (including issuing and defending search and seizure orders) and enforcement of post termination restrictive covenants.

Helen also works with insolvency practitioners and has supported on some high-profile insolvency matters. She also successfully resisted challenges by insolvency practitioners to realise assets of bankrupt estates. 

Supporting a range of clients, from high profile individuals, though to SMEs and public and private sector organisation, Helen is able to assist with the early stages of litigation, all the way through to mediation and court.

Examples of how Helen has supported clients include:

  • defending proceedings in a multimillion-pound claim for data theft and breach of confidential information in the utilities industry;
  • negotiating and recovering substantial damages in a complex contractual dispute with a local authority and care provider without the issue of proceedings;
  • settling a shareholder dispute in a claim concerning unfair prejudice, breach of restrictive covenants and intellectual property rights following the exit of a company’s founding director and shareholder. By successfully challenging the validity of a registered intellectual property right, Helen was able to negotiate a notable full and final settlement; and
  • securing a substantial settlement for a food manufacturer who was forced to recall products for a supplier’s failure to comply with food safety regulations.
