Joanne is a Partner in the Employment team. 

Joanne provides practical, pragmatic advice on a whole range of employment law and HR queries, including advice on complex disciplinary and grievances, large scale redundancies, managing performance, having protected conversations and settlement agreements.

Acting mainly for private sector employers, Joanne has many years of experience as an advocate providing representation in the Employment Tribunal in relation to a wide variety of claims, including unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, constructive dismissal, protective awards and discrimination claims

Joanne has a particular interest in managing sickness absence and disability discrimination, and  has helped a number of large employers reduce their levels of absence by implementing effective policies and procedures and training managers how to manage staff who are absent from work.

Working for local and national employers of all shapes and sizes, across a broad-range of sectors Joanne has particular expertise in acting for employers in manufacturing, healthcare and service industries.

Joanne has acted for employers of all sizes from small owner managed businesses to PLCs. She has defended Employment Tribunal cases which have ranged in value up to £2.2 million.
